Nephrology

Our mission is to treat patients with renal disease, promote the research and educate future renal physicians. We are committed to manage the patients with hypertension, chronic kidney disease and renal replacement therapy with kidney transplantation. There are 3 faculty members and 1 fellow. The main research fields are renal hypertension, hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, and nutrition. Dr. Moon-Jae Kim graduated from Yonsei University College of Medicine,1979. He finished nephrology fellowship at Severance Hospital in Seoul, Korea. and has served as a professor in the Inha University College of Medicine since 1988. He studied at New York State University-Downstate Medical Center and Cornell University Medical College-The New York Hospital, USA, as postdoctoral fellow. Dr. Seoung Woo Lee graduated from Yonsei University College of Medicine,1987, and finished nephrology fellowship at Severance Hospital in Seoul, Korea. He studied at University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston as postdoctoral fellow. Dr. Joon Ho Song graduated from Inha University College of Medicine, 1991, and finished nephrology fellowship in the Inha University Hospital in Incheon City, Korea. He joined us in 2003 and now he is studying in University of Michgan-Ann Arbor, Michgan, USA. The division consists of the outpatient clinic and the kidney center which has 3 clinics: The Kidney Center is composed of hemodialysis room, peritoneal dialysis clinic, and kidney transplantation clinic. Our kidney center is one of the representative centers in Incheon City, Korea. Hemodialysis room has 28 hemodialysis machines and 1 portable machine for treating patients we can treat 120 dialysis patients. In peritoneal dialysis clinic, the 160 patients were registered. One nurse takes the full charge of managing patient’s care. We take care of 80 transplant patients at kidney transplantation clinic.
